Detection Capacity of Helicobacter pylori Infection by Stool Antigen Test Comparing with Rapid Urease Test among Peptic Ulcer Disease Patients

Background: Rapid urease test and stool antigen are both important diagnostic tools for the detection of Helicobacter pylori infection among peptic ulcer disease patients.
 Objective: The purpose present study was to compare capacity with by comparing rapid Methodology: This cross-sectional conducted in Department Clinical Pathology collaboration Gastroenterology at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Dhaka, Bangladesh from October 2011 September 2012 a period one year. All clinically suspected Helicobactor infected patients attending University (BSMMU) upper GI endoscopy were selected as population. Stool specific sample done “ABON-One Step device”. Endoscopy GIT performed Gastroenterology. Biopsy taken during RUT. (RUT) endoscopic biopsy performed.
 Result: A total 86 recruited this study. mean (±SD) age found 38.53(±10.40) years. Out 76 cases SAT positive 10 negative. sensitivity, specificity, predictive values negative accuracy RUT 85.53%, 90.0%, 98.48%, 45.0%, 86.05% respectively. area under curve 0.283 lower limits 95% confidence interval 0.133 0.432. statistically significant (p=0.003).
 Conclusion: In conclusion is an effective method diagnosis infection.
